So I was going to start this post with "we go to this place where there's water..." but I decided to do a little Googling so I sounded a bit more educated about where we live lol! So let's try this slightly more informative introduction...
There's a very nice park and waterfront that we found one day while driving around after going to a new fish market to get fish for sushi. Turns out, thanks to Wikipedia, that it's the Boise River, which is a tributary of our beloved Snake River. There's a very nice play structure the kids love to burn some energy out on, and then there's the ducks and geese. What classic family fun it is to feed these webbed footed friends!
They will eat pretty much right out of your hand...
Em made fast friends with this hungry guy...
Carter much preferred feeding the quieter, slower ducks than the pushy geese...
When the geese got closer, Carter opted for climbing into the safety of Daddy's lap. This shot caught the cracker mid-air when this fast goose snatched it from Joshua's hand.
Poor Carter had really had enough of the geese. You can see him staying very close to Trevor and asking where the nice ducks went lol...

Easter!
Catchin' up this morning...
It's really starting to sink into my head lately how the kids are growing up and time is flying. For the 14th time, we dyed eggs as a family...
And sleepy monkeys came downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny had brought...
And we headed outside to hunt for eggs...
Emilee is still happy to join in looking for treasures...
And for some reason, this was a particularly important egg to Trev...
We had a very nice, quiet family Easter day. After church we hit Home Depot and got some pretty flowers and bordering and spruced up the front of the house.
And remember that very important birthday watering can? It came in very handy after all the flowers were planted!

Climbin' and flyin'
Carter continues to amaze me. We went to a birthday party at a bounce house place and there was a rock wall in the corner. None of the other preschoolers wanted anything to do with climbing it, but Carter was all over it. The lady harnessed him and up, up he went!!
As soon as spring sprung, Carter was out trying to fly his kite. God bless the Dollar Store and these kites that actually work for a buck!

Happy Mother's Day!!
Joshua surprised me with a trip to California to surprise my mom for Mother's Day! He's at home wrangling the monkeys and I got to spend three days with my Mom and Dad. The best part of my trip was heading over to the coast (ooooh beach-in-Idaho, where are you? lol) and spending the day with my parents AND brother, David, and enjoying the gorgeous ocean and sun. I know having my brother and I together with her and Dad meant the world to Mom. It was a very nice and relaxing trip...thank you, honey!
Now I'm at the airport, headed home to get Mother's Day hugs from my own monkeys. Hope they were fairly nice to Daddy while I was away :-).
Happy Mother's Day to all the special moms out there!!
